JJ Redick's Plight

During the summer league he was hot and during the pre-season he wowed Van Gundy to the point where is earned first man off the bench behind MP and today he is in a situation that is all too familiar as he is transformed from a player to a super season ticket holder with exec VIP status. JJ Redick is regulated to now watch from the bench with no chance of playing time.
Was he really given a fair chance? Was two bad games in a row enough to deem him fit not to play in the NBA? Nelson also sucked those first two games, why is he not bench? If JJ had played that third game could it have been his breakout game? Would the Magic have won that game? So many questions, so many disappointments.
Currently the only thing that is clear about JJ Redick's NBA career is that it's in jeopardy of being none existent and we never really had a chance to see what he is capable of. In college he was a scoring monster, does such skills simply drop? Can he not contribute at all? For the last two season the excuse was he's defense, but during the pre-season Van Gundy said that he played near flawless defense. Was this a ploy by the Magic Execs to kill his popularity?
JJ Redick needs a chance, a fair chance but it currently doesn't look like he will get that chance. With Bogans playing so well Van Gundy's “If it ain't broke, don't fix it” philosophy is justifiable, but he gave his word when he said that he will not jerk player's minutes because of a couple of bad games. I understand that every game is a must win situation but JJ needs a fair chance other wise some other team will pick him up and he may make us pay like Billups does game after game, after game.
