Man! I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve! NBA season is just around the corner and this season is looking like it's gonna be one for the ages! Here's 11 things to look for this season, in no particular order:
1. Phoenix Suns
If everyone was healthy last season it might have been a Suns vs Heat finals and they know it. This season they want to prove it.
2. New York Knicks
Can Thomas pull it off or will the drama reach it's anticapated climax and everything fall apart? Maybe it's just in my nature to root for the under dog, but I really hope that Thomas can pull it off. Although the chances are slim, success or failure all depend on if Starbury and Steve-o can co-exsist. They have a decnt group of players that can make it work, but it won't be easy at all.
3. Chicago Bulls
Last season they didn't have a true center, now they got big Ben. Can they be stopped?
4. Cleveland Cavaliers
This team went toe to toe with the Pistons in the second round of the playoffs. This team might be more hungry then the Bulls.
5. Sacramento Kings
Until Artest came along, they where going nowhere. Let's see what they can do when they have him for a full season.
6. Houston Rockets
This year it's all or bust for the coach and if Yao and Me-Mac can stay healthy, they might just take it all. This is a title ready team.
7. Orlando Magic
Was that final run last year a fluke or are they ready to get back into the playoffs after a 3 year vacation? Winning 16 of their last 20 games last year had heads turning late in the season. The addition of J.J Reddick will help spread the floor and a healthy Grant Hill would be icing on the cake. The big question during the summer was; did teams lay down for the Magic at the end or were they really that good? by the time Dec comes around, we'll find out.
8. San Antonio Spurs
Until they are out, you can never count them out.
9. Dallas Mavericks
If the Suns, Spurs and Rockets stay healthy this season, this team will really have to prove themselves.
10. Miami Heat
Lets face it; dispite the fact that they are the champs, this is not the youngest team in the league. if Shaq can make 60 games it will be a plus.
11. Detriot Pistons
They are out to prove to everyone that they are still the team to beat. Now that they are more offensive minded, losing Ben might not be as bad as most think and keeping the rest of the team together was a good thing.
This season it seems like everyone has something to prove. Many teams are coming in with high hopes but only a few really deserve it. Neither the East or the West has a clear cut finals team. Although a lot of people are saying that the Heat are a Lock in the east, you can't forget about the Bulls, Cavs, or Pistons. By the time we reach the All-Star Weekend, we'll see who's hype is real and who's hype is false.
