Hey folks, another week has gone by in the world of NFL flag football. This past weekend we lost to the Titans (and coach Parker again) 23 – 0. Now I know coach Parker will be reading this so the next paragraph will be strictly for him.
We got our butts spanked as if we came home with all F's on our report card. They beat us as if we spoke about their mama. That dog gone Parker. I will get him someday! But for now I will concede to being Vegetta to his Goku (if you don't know what I'm talking about wikipedia Dragon Ball Z). I have never beaten him and I've never lost this bad before. I will get him some day!!!
Now for those of you wondering how it ended that way here is the scoop.
Wayne's Defense did a great job of covering my 2 receivers, and much like the Dolphins of the Marino age, we don't have a running game. Wayne and crew was able to see that and capitalize on it providing good passing coverage.
On our end, the offense was a hot mess. Once it was clear that we were not gonna catch the ball the fun stopped. It was clear that the kids were very tense and was trying too hard. I guess that part of that tension was because they all knew that this was a big game. I tried to get them to relax but it was no good. All of the Titans' points came from interceptions, which leads me to the good points.
In contras, our defense only allowed 1 extra point. Those boys were on top of it and I am proud of them, all season long the D just keeps improving, if it wasn't for the interceptions this game could have went into over time. I must say that I do not fault out QB for the interceptions, the Titans just played good defense. I'm proud of the offense too because even though they played under stress, they played hard and never gave up, who can ask for more.
Even though we lost very badly I have no doubt no that we can beat them. It simply was not the offenses' day. Our downfall is no different than the professional NFL teams that rely heavily on passing. When it's hot, it hot; when it not it's not, and that was the case this past weekend. This past weekend simply wasn't our day. Our Defense proved that we can get the job, and I'm gonna tweak our offense to make sure that we have a plan B in the event that out offensive passing game gets nullified again.
I refuse to give up and if we run into them (the Titans) again during playoffs time, the outcome will be different. Until next time, see ya!
