Sorry everyone for not writing in a while. I have a second job now so it's been hard getting to the PC. Here is a brief recap of what you've missed these past 3 weeks.
We lost to the Steelers 3 weeks ago then we beat the Panthers again the following week. We ended the season 5-3 (Never a losing season). This past weekend we played the Steelers in the first rounds and lost to end our season.
It seems that at the end of each season I learn something that makes me better for the next one and this season is no different. This season I learned that I must find a system and stick with it. The 2 successful teams this season has a system and the last team that won it all had a system, so systems must work. I need to find a system that if executed well the kids will have the best chance of winning; something that they can improve upon during the season.
I'm gonna have plenty of time to sit back and come up with this system because I will not be coaching this fall. I am taking a break, in fact I may not coach in this league again. Not because of anything wrong, DEM Sports is a great league with a great group of people who truly care about the kids in our community, the reason I would go to another league is due to conflict of schedule. I'm not sure if I will be able to coach Sat mornings anymore.
Well let us end this blog on a brighter note.
I have had the most fun this season. We went through a lot of emotional ups and downs, suffered defeats together and enjoyed sweet victory together. I will not soon forget these group of kids that I had this season, they all will have a place in my heart.
The league officials have been speaking to me about doing these blogs for the whole league, I've been trying to get the coaches to do their own blog for their team so I my take this chance to get more people involved with this site in the fall.
Any-who:
I do hope that you've enjoyed this season's blogs and keep coming back. This site is open for anyone to blog and it's free so if you have any sports related info that you want to share with the world just sign up and start typing. Until Next season, see ya!
P.S.
If you live in the Orlando area and have kids between the ages of 5-15, get them involved in flag football. The price is right, the learning is good, the excitement is great, the season is fun and the experience is priceless. To learn more go to:
