Well this week we showed some progress from the week before, we played the Redskins and lost 0 - 19 which makes us 0-3 for the season thus far. Even so, it still was a good game because it showed me that we are heading in the right direction.

After our crushing defeat last week, my assistant coach and I revamped our whole philosophy on both offense and defense. What this means was that we brought in new plays and new strategies for defense.

The offense looked like a team who just learned some plays. Although they struggled with knowing what to do, we were able to move the ball down the field a lot better than before. We even came close to scoring a couple of times but couldn't finish the job. A lot of interceptions were thrown but it couldn't be avoid because the two fastest receivers are also the two best QBs. It didn't take long for the other team to realize who to cover in the game. The other receivers are good but not as fast. We are working on a solution to this problem.

We have two other kids who can throw the ball well. One has a natural arm but his mechanics and decision making are poor. The other one was something we found about about right before the game tonight. He's older so I'm guessing that he might have a better head for QB than the other. If either of those two can mature into the QB spot our offense will look far better, otherwise I might have to tweak the lineup for offense and defense.

The defense looked very good tonight. We had two interceptions and the Redskins only scored once on them; not because they (the Redskins) were that good, but because a couple of the kids on defense got mixed up at one point. If it wasn't for that one error the defense would have had a shutout game.

Both the offense and defense has a long way to go, but tonight showed us that we are definitely heading in the right direction.

This whole season will be looked at as a work in progress to prepare us for what really counts, the playoffs. In this league it doesn't matter if your 0-9, at the end of the season you will be in the playoffs. To me this season is nothing more than a preseason for the two last games.

Now allow me to run at the keyboard here for a minute.

I've been thinking this week. I don't think that I want the Bucs to ever beat us again. Now bear with me here, sometimes I'm a little slow. I'm the type of person who will here a joke at the beginning of a movie and cracked up on the way home because I finally get it and it finally dawned on me that what the Bucs are doing is mean and wrong.

I have been on the good end of a butt whooping before and I've always made changes to the line up that would give the other team a chance to get close. This is Pee-Wee flag football, everyone is entitled to have fun. When we played the Broncos I had fun, even tonight's game against the Redskins was fun, but last week was not fun. Come on these are kids! There were times when I was clearing winning a game that I even told my defense to act like they're going for there flags but to let them score because I believe that everyone should be having fun.

Right now as it stands, the bucs are the team to beat at 3-0. We're not the only ones they've whoop on so badly so now I'm making them my goal and I'm pretty sure that the other coaches are feeling the same way.

No matter what happens the Bucs should not win the championship this year and I will do everything in my power to make sure that I do my part in making that happen.

Next time I see the Bucs' coach I will thank him for giving me and my team a greater desire to win. Until next time, see ya!
